Many researchers note that the mask is an inherent part of social and cultural life over the existence of mankind. Modern scholars distinguish a lot of interpretations of this concept and, therefore, a large number of approaches to reevaluation of the  mask. This paper as exemplified in the poems of Igor Irtenyev, Bakhyt Kenzheev and Timur Kibirov considers the “mask” as a form of figurativeness or, more precisely, as a means of forming an author's image in the lyrics.

Keywords: modern poetry, author, lyrical subject, author's mask, speech mask.
