The article is devoted to the life and work of Marc Chagall, as reflected in the poetry of D. Simanovich. We give a general description of the modern trends of development of Russian poetic text. Describes old Vitebsk early. Twentieth century — the time of adolescence Marc Chagall, the architecture of the city, life and customs of the citizens. It emphasizes the artist's love for his native city. The main images of the paintings of Marc Chagall, passed in poetic texts; It analyzes the complex balance between two worlds — the real and the imaginary painting of Marc Chagall; identifies the main language means by which passed the flying world of the artist's paintings.
