Structural and linguistic features of resumes in Russian and English

A well-written resume is the key to a successful job search and subsequent employment. Recruiters pay great attention to the format and language content of a resume which is a marketing document that presents a specialist in a particular field. This article attempts to study the corpus of resumes in Russian and English in order to identify structural and linguistic differences. The study considers the process of formation of resumes in Russia as a genre of business communication. The issues of cross-lingual correspondence of resumes in English and Russian remain relevant and debatable. The author concludes that resumes in Russian and English are the two different documents which excludes their word-for-word translation.
