The article highlights the issues of intercultural differences of communicative behavior between partners in German and Kyrgyz linguistic cultures. The communicative behavior of a people is a component of its national culture. It is governed by national norms and traditions, cultural dimensions and cultural standards. Interpretation of the behavior of representatives of another culture should be based on knowledge of the causes of this behavior. In order to carry out successful intercultural communication, it is necessary to pay special attention not only to language, culture, but also to the peculiarities of thinking of interlocutors belonging to another culture. The article describes and compares the national-specific cultural standards of the German and Kyrgyz peoples, which affect the communicative behavior of interlocutors. The cultural dimensions of G. Hofstede are also considered. A. Thomas’ cultural standards influence speech strategies and the course of successful intercultural communication. We must proceed from the fact that they should be taken into account when comparing the linguistic worldviews of different peoples, so that Cross-cultural intercultural communication proceeds successfully if possible. Understanding and perceiving differences in mentalities in the process of intercultural communication contributes to the overall establishment of mutual understanding in today’s global society.
