Anthropocentric and symbolic-articulatory foundations of Korean writing: Three primordial elements of creation — Sky, Earth, Human

The article explores the current issue of the alphabet and the methodological foundations of its creation in the context of the Korean language, focusing on the reflection of universal, regional-cultural, and national-specific characteristics in the internal and external worlds of the alphabet. These characteristics serve as the basis for shaping Korean auditory and visual psycho-images in the individual and societal consciousness, forming the foundation for both mono-ethnic and inter-ethnic communication. The creation of the Korean alphabet is grounded in three primordial elements of creation: sky, earth, and human, which are graphically and symbolically represented by the elements of vowels in the Korean alphabet and the positions of speech organs (mouth image, throat image, etc.) for consonants. The Korean alphabet encompasses three aspects of anthropocentrism: universal (human), regional-cultural (Eastern), and national-specific (Korean). All three aspects of anthropocentrism are harmoniously integrated into the alphabet and writing, demonstrating themselves in written communication and, consequently, in oral communication as well. Based on the national-visual-sound psycho-images formed in the consciousness of the Korean individual and society during their adaptation to the characteristics of letters and sounds in oral and written speech of a non-native language, the process of bilingualism and biculturality is realized. This is because each national language and culture contains both universal and national-specific anthropocentrism, which is one of the factors in acquiring a second language and culture. In the process of learning the Korean language for both Koreans and non-Korean speakers, information about the three elements of creation represented in the Korean alphabet contributes to a more effective mastery of the language. For Koreans learning Turkic languages and Turkic speakers learning the Korean language, another factor facilitating effective and rapid language acquisition is the functioning of the law of synharmonism in their languages, uniting them in terms of historical language-culture, and serving as one of the foundations for their formation and development. Throughout the scientific inquiry, methods such as linguistic description, intra-language and inter-language comparison, and linguistic-graphic analysis were employed, yielding results with both theoretical and practical significance.
