Information portrait of Kurdistan in the style of Russian-language media space

The article considers the prerequisites, genre-thematic and lexical-stylistic features of the formation of an information portrait of Kurdistan in journalistic texts of the Russian media. By identifying interdisciplinary convergences and differences in the modern scientific understanding of the literary concept of portraiture, the author defines the main characteristics of such a phenomenon in journalism as an information portrait in their application to the analysis of information messages on RT, collected by the keywords “kurds” and “Kurdistan”. Reporting that the RT news channel is today a very popular international information media resource, the author emphasizes that the Kurdistan information portrait on the RT website is caused by a crisis situation that provokes coverage of the Kurds problem only in the aspect of the Syrian conflict, and is also drawn taking into account modern functioning features Russian language in the media, and therefore, cannot serve as a means of forming a positive image of Kurdistan. After analyzing the coverage of the Kurdistan problem on specialized Russian-language site, the author concludes that in this case, the creation of a stylistically complete and thematically comprehensive information portrait is possible only with the help of such specialized resources of the Russian-language media space.
