The impact of linguistic and pedagogical research on aspect and tense of verbs in English language

The majority of attempts to describe tense and aspect of verbs in English language has led to a discussion, but not to direct explanation of the grammatical categories. Generally, the discussion provokes a range of questions, such as: debates on existence of the future tense, differentiation of tense and aspect as specific characteristic of a verb. It also includes a method used in grammar and course books to describe tense and aspect in terms of quantity and absence of aspect.  The aim of the article is to demonstrate a lack of agreement on the above-written issues and illustrate tense and aspect of verbs from linguistic and pedagogical point of view. Moreover, a research is made to explain an impact of disagreement on the study of tense and aspect of verbs in English language.
