This article examines the conditions of the implementation of the semiotic function in the “Parisian text” of the novel “Under the Shadow of young Girls in Flower” by M. Proust. The semiotic analysis of the letters-invitations of Gilberte Swann to Marcel is necessary for the search of sign correspondences in the creation of original author’s aesthetic, metaphorical, value, philosophical, semiotic models. The didactic discourse in the novel by M. Proust develops under the influence of the “Parisian secular code”. The categories of “admiring things” and “being enchanted by things” are also significant in Marcel Proust’s work. All of Gilberte’s signs of attention are interpreted by the narrator as signs of guidance, signs of proximity, and signs of searching for the meaning of “happy times” of dating. The text is characterized by polyfunctionality, associativity, sign saturation, sign combination, emotional depth, expressiveness, emblematicity, representativeness, suggestiveness of visual, color, auditory, and tactile impressions, and the significance of final philosophical generalizations.
