Word-formation and structural features of mathematical eponymous terms

The study is devoted to the word-formation and structural analysis of mathematical eponymous terms. It is noted that eponymous terms represent a significant terminology layer in mathematics. The appellative and onomastic components in the composition of an eponymous term are highlighted, and at the structural level, eponymous terms are represented by term-words and term-phrases. A statistical analysis of the word-formation and structural features of mathematical eponymous terms is conducted. It is noted that the onomastic component of term-phrases can consist of  one–three onyms. The order of onomastic components in the formation of eponymous terms from several proper names is analyzed. Special attention is paid to morphological and structural features, as well as the identification of characteristic suffixes and prefixes in the formation of mathematical eponymous terms. The types of multi-component eponymous terms in the field of mathematics are identified. The article identifies patterns in the formation of word-formation nests of eponymous terms. Special attention is paid to the problem of the emergence of eponymous terms doublets within the framework of mathematical terminology. The article highlights word-formation models of doublets in mathematical eponymous terms.
