The review represents Suren Solyan’ new book “Semantics and Structure of Poetic Text”, Moskau: URSS, 2014. The book touches upon the most important and crucial category for modern linguistics such as text in new research dimensions in the XXI century. Being a follower of Y.M. Lotmans’ theory, the author emphasizes the linguo-poetics as the core methodology of text interpretation. The monograph focuses the text as a multisemantic entity with its semiotic and semantic heterogenity as a dynamic balance between various text structures. The essential plurality of text semantics can be formalized with the help of modal semantics that describes meanings in various interpretation domains (“possible worlds”).
Кeywords: text, semantics, poetics, language representation.
