This article is focused on literary criticism and essays by Pyotr Vail and Alexander Genis. It reviews the most considerable books by Vail and Genis dedicated to Russian culture and literature of the second half of the XXth century. Author provides deep analysis of emigre selfconsciousness, different cultural models and their interaction in the perception of the “third wave” of Russian emigration.
