Conceptually conference “Water path: the path of life, the way culture” continues the line of similar interdisciplinary scientific meetings, previously held under the auspices of the Tver State University, Research Center of Local History and Ethnography GASK ets. In 2010 the scientific community to discuss issues related to the Russian swamp as a natural and cultural phenomenon. In 2012 at the conference “Native Land through the eyes of an outside observer. Notes of travelers about the Tver region”, the researchers examined in a mirror image of the motherland travel. Now came the turn of the waterways, the concept and in the literal and historical and cultural way.

According to the results of the conference in the framework supported by the Russian Humanitarian Science Foundation and the Government of the Tver region of the project released a collection of “Waterways: the way of life, the way of culture”.
