This article analyzes neo-mythologism techniques identified in a novel by contemporary Chechen writer K. Ibragimov, the first to be the subject of scholarly research. A tendency toward interpreting national myth and reworking folkloric plots and images is noted. Characters with prototypes in national mythology are examined, particularly the figure of Molla Nesart, who is considered a literary trickster with clear allusions to the iconic figure of Eastern culture, Khoja Nasreddin. The work’s heightened intertextuality is noted, driven by the author's desire to recreate the national character and the cultural and social specifics of the era.

Keywords: Chechen literature, K. Ibragimov, mythopoetics, neomythologism, literary interpretation, intertext
