On April 28–29, 2025, the International Scientific Conference “Leningrad “second culture” in the official and unofficial field” was held at the IRLI RAS (Pushkin House), at which forty reports were made. The main scientific problem facing the participants is to analyze how exactly the “second culture” reflected the social and cultural changes of its time, what mechanisms allowed creative individuals to create and disseminate their ideas, and how this heritage continues to influence modern artistic and cultural expression. A large place was taken by the problem of inheritance of the traditions of previous literature in unofficial work. And at the same time, there was a conversation about the role of uncensored literature in modernizing official culture. As shown, for example, the archive of the magazine “Aurora”, new trends were willingly reflected in the magazine, were widely in demand by the reader. That is, unofficial literature, despite the prohibitions on its distribution, was an organic part of the general literary process. The fact that the process of mutual influence of official and unofficial cultures is inevitable and natural is evidenced by similar phenomena in foreign literature.
