Forms and methods of borrowing in the Azerbaijani language in the light of the Republic’s state policy in the era of globalization

The article explores different forms and methods of borrowings based on the material of the modern Azerbaijani language in the era of globalization. The general linguistic fund of this language in the current period of history is mainly replenished by international vocabulary, including terms. The material for linguistic research mainly consisted of words or expressions that appeared at different times. On the one hand, they have already been fixed in dictionaries; on the other, they have not yet been marked by the authors, however, they are widely distributed on the Internet and in the republican media. The functioning of most lexical units is considered from a sociological point of view. This enriches the problem raised, as it primarily testifies to the originality of the Azerbaijani language, and therefore to the potential for its preservation and further development. In the light of Azerbaijan's language policy, such a task is undoubtedly becoming a priority. Taking into account the time of its formulation (the era of globalization in our days), such extralinguistic factors as ethnicity, language prestige, and discoveries in various fields are briefly analyzed in parallel. It has been established that an important feature of the latest loanwords is that the source language is predominantly American English.
