A review of the book “Salty Fate. Materials for the biography of the Pomeranian storyteller F.N. Svinyin” (compiled by A.S. Lyzlova; Petrozavodsk: Publishing House BAREA, 2024. 256 p.), which contains information and materials concerning the life and work of the famous Pomeranian storyteller Fyodor Nikolaevich Svinyin. The sources presented in it are divided into three sections: biographical materials and autobiographical documents; previously published articles about F.N. Svinyin and tales recorded from the storyteller. The publication is intended for folklorists, local historians and specialists in the field of ego-documents, as well as all those interested in the traditional culture and oral folklore of Karelian Pomorye.
