The review presented is devoted to the textbook “Transcultural Literature of the XXI Century”, written by authors E. Shafranskaya, G. Garipova, Sh. Keshfedinov. The factual basis of the textbook is made by research interpretations of the works of the most talented and profound representatives of modern transcultural literature. The work presents an enhanced compilation of scientific strategies and methods. The team of authors turned to discursive and hermeneutic approaches in the analysis of literary texts, to the historical and functional method in considering the shift of Russian-language literature from the 20th century to the 21st century, and finally to theoretical discourse in the study of transcultural poetics. It is concluded that this textbook contributes much to the formation of transcultural literary concepts in contemporary studies. It includes various aspects of the phenomenon studied, among which there are history, genesis, and features of the new literary discourse functioning that is characterized by transcultural, constitutive features of transcultural types of artistic consciousness and corresponding principles of poetics and style. Furthermore, it is stated that the features common to all transcultural literature of Russia and the CIS countries are revealed by means of research interpretations aimed at comprehending various types of dialogical relations of ‘own’, ‘native’, ‘alien’, ‘other’, ‘different’, which are reflected at all levels of fiction and bring a specific quality of variability, fluidity, and transitivity to the transcultural text.
