In this article are consider the interrelation between Symbolism and postsimvolizm in Russian literature of the early twentieth century. In particular, special attention is paid to the problem of the postymbolistic prose. As a central object of study selected novel “Doctor Zhivago” by Boris Pasternak. On the basis of the modern theory of postsimvolistic literature proposed research strategy postsymbolistic novel. One of the principles of this strategy is a creative plan of reconstruction of the writer. This element of the research based on using of biographical material. Practice postsymbolistic literature assumes an active reflection of the author-postsymbolist on the development of symbolism. Based on this, the synthesis of old and new, of poetry and prose is regarded as the main creative principle of the postsymbolistic poet. Along with Boris Pasternak in line postsimvolistskoy theory presented the names of Alexander Blok, Anna Akhmatova, Vladimir Mayakovsky and Sergey Yesenin.
