The article considers the peculiarities of the aesthetic position by Jurij Fel’zen, an émigré writer related to the “unnoticed generation”. Associated with the group of the “Numbers” and formed under the influence of the poetics of the “Russian Montparnasse”, oriented against literariness, Fel’zen set up the original conception of creative renewal, based on the interaction of love, memory and writing. On the basis of Fel’zen's stories of the last 1920s (“Reflection”, “Experience”, “Victim”, “Dreamer”, “Two Destinies”), the author analyzes the dynamics of the writer's artistic technique, which is proposed to be called the “held memory” technique.

Keywords: Jurij Fel’zen, artistic technique, memory, “Russian Montparnasse”, responsibility of an artist.
