The Functions of Religiously-Associated Terminology in the Poetry of Joseph Brodsky

The material basis of this study is the poetry of Joseph Brodsky. Here we examine several features of the way in which lexical items associated with religion function in poetic language. We put forth examples and means of transforming the sense of religious terms in their context.
