In article in a wide historical and cultural and literary context the mytheme “Scythians” as the embodiment not only a real and historical, ethnocultural community and as a certain mythopoetic expression of the Russian national character which is organically melting in itself mental and psychological currents of the West and East is considered. Concentration orgiastic — a spontaneous, “barbarous” essence of October revolution as splash in the “Scythian” beginning was felt by A.A. Blok. His poem “Scythians” which has become the poetic manifesto of the literary group of the same name in the environment of “White Guard” has caused a polemic response: “the imperial gusla player” S.S. Bekhteev has tried to present in the poem “East” absolutely a different view on a skifstvo as on the destructive, destructive force which has broken an original Russian civilization. For the first time in literary criticism the ideological and philosophical and poetiko-stylistic analysis of poems of A.A. Blok and S.S. Bekhteev in close connection with historiosophical dispute of the Russian thinkers of a turn of the 19—20th centuries on destiny of Russia is undertaken.
