The article describes three stages of the image evolution of the main character, determines his role and place in revealing the main idea of the fairy tale. The author conducts an overview analysis of the stylistic devices and structure of the text, contributing to a more accurate understanding of the portrait and actions of the main character. The scientific novelty of the study is that for the first time the author investigates the changes in the inner world of the character (Little Rabbit) in stages, namely: emotional changes, release of the psychological state and behavior to a higher level, appearance of internal harmony. The text of the fairy tale “Little Rabbit’s Big Surprise” has not previously been studied from the point of view of the psychologism: thoughts and actions, internal monologues, dialogues, attitude towards others (relatives and the entire forest community) of the hero. Changes in the inner state of the character are supplemented by a description of the bright colors of nature, which are transitional moments in the text of the fairy tale. As a result of the study, the author comes to the conclusion that the analyzed illustrations and examples from the text show the abrupt, fast and complex evolution of Little Rabbit, personifying the best human qualities through various good actions.
