The main objective of the article is to study the mythological and folklore elements in the poem of the modern Kabardino-Circassian poet Aslanbek Psigusov “Khazret”. In the course of the study, a set of scientific methods was used, including comparative-historical, description, literary analysis. The study is carried out through the analysis of archetypes originally introduced into the text, reflecting the author's position. It was established that the active use of mythological and folklore elements is a distinctive feature of the poetic work of A. Psigusov, who shows a deep interest in his ethnocultural origins. In particular, it is shown that in the poem “Khazret” mythological and folklore motifs, images and symbols acquire a unique sound, serving as an expression of universal psychological principles and stable national cultural models. The results of the study showed that the analyzed poem is distinguished by a unique style, a combination of historical facts and mythological and folklore elements, reality and fiction, history and myth. Mythological motifs help the author to create a unique model of the world, in which history and traditions become an integral part of modern reality. The results of this study can be useful in studying the development of the poem genre in Kabardino-Circassian literature, as well as in the broader context of Adyghe literature. In addition, they can be used in developing specialized courses, writing diploma and other research papers.
