This article provides a detailed analysis of Russian borrowed terms in the Persian vocabulary related to billiards. The aim of the study is to identify and systematize the influence of the Russian language on billiard terminology in Persian, as well as to understand how this vocabulary reflects cultural and linguistic contacts between Russia and Iran. The research examines a set of key terms — such as ‘bitok’, ‘shar’, ‘v ugol’, ‘v srednyu’, ‘udar’, ‘piramida’, and ‘italyanski’ — used in billiards and their equivalents in both languages. The methodology includes a comparative analysis of lexical borrowings, as well as lexicographical and cultural aspects associated with these terms. The findings highlight the significance of lexical borrowing as a tool for cultural interaction and linguistic enrichment. This article will be useful for Iranian and Russian linguists, translators, as well as researchers engaged in the study of linguistic borrowings and interactions between the Russian and Persian languages.
