The proposed work is devoted to the description of the field expedition to Kobyaisky ulus of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), organized in 2022, and further primary generalization of the results of the expedition research. The relevance of the study is caused by the need to trace the transformations of oral traditions in modern conditions in this territory, which remains interesting due to remoteness, inaccessibility, isolation of the life of villagers. The aim of the work is to present the progress and peculiarities of the field expedition, to outline the intermediate results and prospects of the collected folklore materials. The analysis shows that, in general, the traditions of living folklore of Yakuts and Evens of the Kobyaisk ulus are characterized by sufficient preservation in the field of mythological ideas, elements of the shamanic picture of the world, non-tale prose (legends, bytchikas, legends, byvalshchin, etc.), small genres (fairy tales, prohibitions, prescriptions, omens), ritual and ritualized forms (having the attitude to magical pragmatism), original craft traditions. The importance of introducing the text of archaic olonkho of the epic local tradition into the scientific turnover is noted. The Expedition – 2022 significantly enriched the digital archive of the Olonkho Research Institute of the North-Eastern Federal University with folklore and linguistic materials that will be of great interest for further comprehensive research in Yakut folklore studies.
