The role of A.K. Voronsky in the fate of Artyom Vesyoly

The article explores connections between A.K. Voronsky and Artyom Vesyoly. It contains reviews by A.K. Voronsky — a leading critic of the 1920s — of the proletarian writer’s prose; previously unpublished archive documents are made public for the first time uncovering intimate descriptions of the 1920s literary life and details of Artyom Vesyoly’s creative biography. Artyom Vesyoly’s founding role in the “Pereval” (Passage) Group is revealed based on his personal archive files never released before. It also establishes a link between the tragic finale of A.K. Voronsky and Artyom Vesyoly predetermined by their common civil stance and firm belief in the need to fight for ideals in the name of which the Socialist Revolution was carried out.
