The vision of the future in direct or indirect form is present in many significant works of the Russian prose of the early twenty first century. It is represented by such famous writers as Vladimir Sorokin, Viktor Pelevin, Roman Senchin, Evgeny Vodolazkin, Dmitry Bykov, and others. A promising trend is the rejection of ready-made schematic solutions and correlation of the issue of the future with the whole complexity of social problems of our time.

Keywords: the vision of the future, novel, author, hero, society.
