The article is devoted to the problems produced by the reception of Yesenin’s work in Vietnam. It explores the history of Yesenin studies in Vietnam and their contemporary state and analyzes the difficulties contemporary Vietnamese translators face when working on Yesenin’s poems. A classification in terms of difficulty of translation is suggested: Yesenin’s works that are easy or difficult to translate into Vietnamese.
