The article presents an analysis of the publicistic writings of academician G.G. Gamzatov. The aim of this research is to examine articles and individual interviews created in the post-Soviet period, which reflect civic engagement and the prevailing societal situation. The scholar draws attention to the valuable qualities of literature, the national origins of creativity, the formation of a systemic community of Dagestani literatures, and the diversity of forms of national artistic thought. The best examples of his publicistic work are based on a high level of culturological thinking, broad erudition, and the ability to navigate not only in science but also in politics, art, and economics. The main tenets of his scholarly publications are reflected in the scholar’s scientific publicistic writings. Dagestan remained at the center of the scholar’s attention, and the primary goal of his scholarly works was to create a systematic picture of the development of Dagestani literature, both oral and written, in accordance with the stages of world literature development. The scientific novelty of this work lies in the fact that it is the first to examine a complex of socio-political, social, and economic issues in G.G. Gamzatov’s publicistic writings.
