The peer-reviewed book by renowned Czech philologists, Doctor of Philology L.E. Bushkanets and Candidate of Philology N.F. Ivanova, contains nineteen articles written jointly and separately. Entitled “Chekhov and... ...and Chekhov”, the book largely continues the study of Chekhov’s literary connections by V.B. Kataev, Chairman of the Chekhov Commission of the Scientific Council of the Russian Academy of Sciences on the History of World Culture, complementing and deepening what he started. It is worth noting the authors’ effort to highlight Chekhov’s unique literary dialogue with his predecessors in the first part of the book, and—in the second part—his dialogue with readers of our time.

Keywords: monograph, A.P. Chekhov, poetics, literary predecessors, followers
