Synchronous recordings of V.A. Shentalinsky’s about V.T. Shalamov’s evening at the Central House of Writers on December 9, 1987, is published for the first time from the author’s autograph. Shentalinsky’s unknown text was discovered in the writer’s archive. The date of the evening was not fully specified: only the day was indicated; the year of the event was established from a note in “Literaturnaya Gazeta”. Information is provided about Shalamov’s contemporaries who spoke at the evening and personally knew the writer: I.P. Sirotinskaya, I.S. Isaev, B. Lesnyak, F.F. Suchkov, among whom there were no well-known writers.
