The primary aim of this study is to identify the distinctive features of Yuz Aleskovsky’s children’s literature of the 1950–1970s in the context of its didactic intent, artistic expressive devices, and ethical and ideological framework. The analysis focuses on the short story “The Black-Brown Fox” and the dilogy about Alyosha Seroglazov and his dog Kysh — “Kysh, Dvaportfelya and an Entire Week” and “Kysh and I in Crimea”. The study proceeds from the hypothesis that Aleskovsky’s turn to children’s prose was not a random episode in his literary career, but rather a significant stage in the formation of his worldview and authorial style. It demonstrates that, while preserving the didactic potential characteristic of Soviet children’s literature, the author imbues his texts with a distinctly humanistic dimension, foregrounding moral choice, honesty, responsibility, friendship, compassion, and loyalty. Particular attention is paid to the use of hyperbole, grotesque, irony, antithesis, and sarcasm, through which a synthesis of humor and philosophical depth is achieved.
