This article examines the translation of biblical texts into Ossetian, focusing on identifying the key discrepancies between the translations and the reference text, the Synodal Translation, which is de facto canonical for Russian-speaking readers. The Gospel of Luke is the focus of this study, as it offers the most complete and chronologically consistent text, making it possible to draw linguistic and stylistic parallels. A comparative analysis of three translations reveals key discrepancies between both the translations and the reference text, potentially leading to semantic shifts and stylistic shifts. It is noted that the desire to avoid literal translation, clearly expressed in the original Ossetian translation, was reflected in subsequent versions by replacing difficult-to-translate words with cumbersome, highly figurative constructions, as well as by the inclusion of various insertions and explanations. It is shown that the search for the optimal variant that conveys the subtleties of a lexical unit's original meaning must be accompanied by an understanding of the need to preserve the integrity of the sentence structure, ensuring accurate conveyance of meaning without compromising the overall stylistic background. The style of divine scripture must be preserved and avoid any stylistic inclusions that disrupt or disrupt the text's internal rhythm.
