The paper presents an analytical review of the All-Russian Scientific Conference “Literary Studies: Science and ‘Common Sense’: On the 95th Anniversary of Professor Valentin Evgenievich Khalizev”, held on April 25–26, 2025 at the Philological Faculty of Lomonosov Moscow State University. The event was attended by 57 scholars from different cities of Russia (Vladikavkaz, Vladimir, Donetsk, Dubna, Moscow, Nizhny Novgorod, Petrozavodsk, Pskov, St. Petersburg, Saransk, Tyumen). The scientific reports and memoirs included in the conference program and presented during six sections, which highlighted various facets of the scholar’s personality, as well as considered the problems that formed the circle of his scientific interests: drama theory, axiology of artistic creation, “out-of-school” literary theory, the methodology of the humanities, methods of teaching philological disciplines, traditions of Russian classics, morally oriented philosophy of the 20th century, etc. The necessity of republishing of V.E. Khalizev’s works was emphasized, as well as the prospects of preparing a posthumous collection of the scholar’s works, the first step towards which was the present conference.
