Russian Language and Main Tendencies of it’s Development in Russian Literature Classics’ Vision of 18—19th centuries

Analyzed the writers’ of the golden age evaluation of the earliest stages of development of the Russian language. N.M. Karamzin’s periodization is demonstrated: Peter’s epoch, “Lomonosov’s and Sumarokov’s era”, “Catherine’s the Great time”, the beginning of the XIX century. Each of the periods is described with the base on N. Karamzin’s, A. Pushkin’s, N. Gogol’s journalistic and epistolary texts. The writers’ mentioned vision of the ways of the development of the Russian literary language is characterized. The article concludes with a comparison of assessments described and the state of the Russian language of the XXI century.
