Abstract: In the present article are considered specifics of functioning of a mythological archetype of a trikster in the story “Double” of F.M. Dostoyevsky. The functional paradigm of an archetype of a trikster in Dostoyevsky's story is analyzed at three subject and fable levels of the text: the first level is an internal dialectics of the identity of Golyadkin; the second — the hero's conflict with the ordered system of the social relations; the third — opposition between Golyadkin Sr. and his double. In article it is proved: in the story Golyadkin is subjected to test by the unconscious trikstersky force which result depends only on personal originality and the hero's resilience. During the research the conclusion is drawn that this internal resilience is borrowed not from traditions and rules of society, not from household reality, and scooped from an extra empirical, inobytiyny source, from reality spiritual.

Keywords: archetype, the trickster, myth, “Double”, Dostoyevsky.
